The sai used as a farming implement to measure the distance between seeds that were planted.. But once again it didn't take long for people to realise that it would make a very affective weapon.. especially favoured by the samurai for close quarter combat and there effectiveness on the battlefield..in the modern day the sai makes an excellent training and demonstration weapon.. good for working your arms and strengthening your hands...
